I started going to Kindred years ago. Dr. Dillard has been my doctor for many years, since we moved from Wichita Falls to Pearland. I had instant trust and connection with him. My husband and I would even schedule our vactations around our appointments with Dr. Dillard. He was the first doctor to mention Kindred for long term acute care. I trust him completely so I agreed to go. I've been here 3 times now. Each time was after a major surgery. I like to come back to Kindred after my surgeries, because the excellent doctors and the excellent care and the food is really good. Food is a big thing for patients in the hospital. The nurses have been careful to coordinate my care around my meal times. That gave me the ease and comfort like being at home. Everyone treats me very well. The staff are attentive, but not smothering. When I need something they go out of their way to make sure I'm comfortable and cared for. Each stay here has been good. I know if I need another surgery in the future and need follow up care, I'll keep choosing Kindred Clear Lake. If you are ill enough to need this kind of care, I recommend them to everyone.
I would recommend Kindred Clear Lake, because of the good care. The nursing, rehab and the wound care were great. Especially the care from Glesson from Rehab. She coordinated my care with my medications which made a difference in my stay. Nurse Michelle on 2nd floor was very helpful in coordinating my medications. She was always willing to go out of her way do do whatever I needed. Tamika the nurse tech was always happy and smiling. That made me feel good seeing her come in. The entire wound care team was excellent. They helped me get well quickly and made it a lot more pleasant. I thought all the staff asked very professional and I would recommend them to anyone.
Kindred Clear Lake has some great nurses and its a good place to get well. I went to Kindred for wound care and they did a great job. The staff taught me how to do things and explained what I needed to know about my colostomy. If I had to start a new med they would give me information about it with all the uses and side effects, then let me make the decision if I wanted to take it or not. That made me feel like I had a say in my treatment. What has really stood out to me here was the nurses and techs. They pay more attention to you and its more personable than some other places I've been. Nurse Sydney was great with me. She helped me get through a tough struggle of depression. She would spend a couple extra minutes out of her time with me just to talk and get to know me. That meant a lot to me. I dont get any visitors and I dont have family around, so it was nice to have someone that really cared to take time with me. It made me feel better. More like a person, not just another patient. Nurse Micha made me laugh all the time. She would come in like a whirlwind and always with a smile. She did everything she could to keep me happy. Also nurse Neddy from the day shift. She was very nice and easy going but always pay attention to me. When she asks how are you today, I can tell she really cares about how I'm doing. She really wants to know. I also liked working with the rehab department. At one point my pencil sharpener went missing and one of the therapist, Michelle, went out of her way to help me find a pencil sharpener so I could keep up with my artwork while I was there. My artwork is very important to me. It helps me stay focused and happy, so I was glad she was able to help me with that. Overall, it was a great place to recuperate.
Give them all a raise! Especially Juan the tech. He was on top of things and I never had to ask him for help twice. Kindred Clear Lake also has the best chow hall in all of the Clear Lake Medical Center. Give them all a raise! And I've been to all of them. I have been to Kindred Clear Lake more than once. Last time they saved my life. I had double pneumonia and they had to nurse me the full amount to get me to where I could go to the rehab. They about saved my life. You dont get the treatment at other hospitals that you get at Kindred. God bless everybody at Kindred!
I chose Kindred, because I consider this my second home. I continue to come back because I'm always pleased with their services. I started going to Kindred when I became ill a few years ago and I typically end up in the hospital a few times a year to manage my illness. If I ever have any concerns they are quick to address things. They always find a way to make things better. They listen to me and make sure I get the care I need. There is another facility that is newer and closer to my house, but I still choose to go to Kindred. I know I can look forward to the care and the experience that I expect. Before coming to Kindred I thought it was going to be more like a long term nursing home or rehab hospital, but its not. That is not what this place is. This is more like a regular hospital but they can keep patients here longer. I get the same care and attention that I get at the hospital. Every service that I have needed, they make it possible. They have the staff and resources to make sure I get taken care of and resolved. Although, I find the Kindred LTAC to be more comfortable and more personable than the regular hospital. I think because of the size of the hospital and the friendly staff that really get to know the patients it makes it feel more like home. I was admitted to their ICU a few years ago, and now I have an etirely new vision of what ICU is and what roles nurses play in patient care. I see the ICU nurses like angles. I had no idea the care that goes into taking care of an individual. They give it their all. The department is phenominal. The floor nursing staff is also wonderful. They are right on target. The nurses introduce themselves at every shift. I'm always kept abreast on what to expect and when to expect things to happen. Respiratory therapy comes in to introduce themselves and tell me how to contact them. They come whenever I call them and they arrive with a smile. They also have a Leadership Ambassador assigned to every patient. Someone from the team stops by every week to make sure things are going okay. They address any concerns if I have any and they keep things running smoothly. That makes me feel confident and safe that someone will always be around to help me if I need it. The facilty is beautiful and the rooms are big and private. A lot of hospitals do not provide that luxury. I recommend anyone that is debating a transfer to Kindred LTAC, to do it. I continue to be pleased and I've gone through it myself, so I'm confident others will have the same experience.
My stay at kindred. I have been here before and I have always received excellent care here. I never worry they will discharge me too soon. My needs always come first. Even if I had multiple health concerns they would address it all. When I first arrived we had a hard time finding an effective antibiotic but after 5 trials we finally found one that worked which was a huge relief. I enjoyed working with Natalie and Leonard from Rehab. They were so friendly and up beat. They tried to keep things interesting. I love the wound care team too. Dr. Reyhani is the best! If anyone ever has any foot problems I highly recommend him. I've had several surgeries on my foot and he had gotten me through every one of them. Everything is clean here and everyone is very helpful at Kindred Clear Lake.
I chose Kindred Clear Lake because I had been there before and had a good experience. it's always so nice and clean and the people are good to me. The staff was always pleasnt and positive. They kept me motivated. They always kept me focused on the goal of getting better. Wound care was very attentive. They would check my skin and always made sure I was well stocked with supplies. Michelle and Pauline came by regularly and stayed on top of my wound care. They were so caring and prompt while remaining pleasant to be around and talk to. The rehab team Glesson and Doug were very helpful and had patience with me. They worked with me and kept me motivated AND SAFE! I felt safe with them because they let me work at the pace I was comfortable with. I wanted thank Brenda the nurse tech for being so kind and attentive. She would encourage me and was always there for me when I needed help. CJ was a good tech and remaind professional to help me feel comfortable at all times. They use the latest technologies and sanitation practices which is so important to prevent infections. I'm glad I chose Kindred, I would stay if I could to complete my rehab if I could but I realize its time to move on to the next level to focus on my physical rehabilitation.
I dont have a lot of experience with the proceedures that are involved with a hosital stay, so I was in the dark a lot. What I found out is most people at Kindred Clear Lake were available to help me along the way. They explained how things work and what to expect to happen while being an inpatient. I learned that the staff will help with everything. For example if my food tray was wrong, they would replace it for me. I didnt know you could do that. Rehab was really great too. They would come pick me up and take me to the gym everyday and bring me back. I loved it! It was a lot of fun to work out with their equipment and sometimes we went outside. They always mixed things up and did something different. I think it all attributed to my recovery. Instead of having a terrible time, which is what I expected in a hospital, I actually enjoyed it. Everyone made it more enjoyable than I expected. It was a very friendly environment.
I transferred to Kindred Clear Lake from Bay Area Regional and it went great from the start. The service and care has been wonderful. My care teams and doctors have done a great job managing my current health concerns as well as my pre-existing conditions. Nursing and rehab teams have really been commendable. They are open and able to communicate. I've had experiences with other hospitals and doctors and they had bad bed-side manner. But here, that wasn't the case. Everyone explained things about medications and what they were for. The staff was enjoyable and even humorous. They seem more like a family. I'm so glad this is nothing like a nursing home. Nursing homes are not motivating, they can leave you feeling lonely. Not this place. they keep me motivated and I feel like I can weather the storm. If there is no hope for tomorrow, then how can we overcome the obstacles today. Its for us to choose what we believe and how we live. God lays the path and helps you overcome those obstacles. So is a man to think it in his heart, so is he. So I applaud Kindred Clear Lake. I'm leaving here full of hope and healing. Praise God! I'm Al Moore, and I approve this message! :)
My experience with KHCL has been very good as far as the care and fiendly attitudes of the staff go. The bedside care was good and they even did all my tests like x-ray and scans here. I liked that they could do that here and not have to send me out anywhere else to do it. They talked to me about the process and talked me through it all.
