Did a quick cursory tour of Kindred Clear Lake and two other secondary care hospitals as we had a VERY negative experience with the Kindred Hospital on the Beltway. Clear Lake appeared to be the best of the three so we went with them aft6er discussing my concerns with Sarah (Patient Relations). She assured me they would take care of the wife.

Wife was in for a month and then in another month, I wound up there. Both of us had been intubated, then trachs, in ICU for a month, then transferred here. I pretty much stayed around the clock when the wife was in due to her medical history. Over all the nurses and PCAs were great, a couple were lacking in performing their duties, but over all great! Charge nurses and Jennifer really need to reevaluate giving patients ice chips when the patient has a trach - they are dying of thirst and the sponge q-tips do not touch it.

Need to try and be more aggressive weaning people off the pureed garbage and chopped food ASAP as both look more like dog bark and taste it as well...

When I was in, I was pretty well incapacitated; nurses, PCAs (Rena is the BEST!), respiratory (Michael, Deborah & Evelyn) and physical therapists were Cadillacs. Meagan was outstanding, but hear she is no longer there...

Needless to say both of us had to learn how to talk and walk again; therapy did all they could to get us up and running again.

Thanks to all of you!

Dr. Memon and the WONDERFUL nurses made my visits a “TREAT”, not a “TREATMENT”! I love them all! Erika is wonderful too!
