How can I have my information removed from your website?
Wellness.com does not remove listings for active doctors or health practices because we provide an objective third party rating and review system for consumers. Consumers have a right to rate and read reviews about all businesses and health practitioners regardless of whether they are accepting new patients or not. Since the name and contact info for licensed health practitioners are public information, Wellness.com is protected by law from any attempt to remove a listing.
Wellness.com will only remove listings for businesses or professionals that do not exist. Listings of professionals who are deceased or no longer actively practicing will be updated with this information. To report a listing that does not exist, please use the "report this" link on the incorrect profile itself. Our team will review the request and if it meets the removal criteria, it will be removed or updated.
The information in your health directory is wrong. How did you get my information?
If your information is listed incorrectly, we sincerely apologize and provide a service for you to update it automatically. We strive to keep our information as accurate as possible. We compile, or purchase public records from reliable sources; however, they do make mistakes and we fix them when brought to our attention. Visit our provider program page for more info about editing your profile.
How can I have a negative rating about my practice removed?
Wellness.com understands that some providers are concerned about receiving negative ratings on their profiles. Please understand that Wellness.com is a neutral and impartial third party rating system, similar to the rating and review process used by Amazon.com or Ebay.com. Ratings can help consumers make better choices in selecting quality products and services. Healthcare is no different. That being said; it is against our publishing policies to write a defamatory review that is not useful to the community and simply intended to cause reputation damage. Wellness.com site administrators reserve the right to remove any review that does not comply with our policies.
Other than the BBB, few websites have the resources to act as an intermediary between businesses and customers or to track down facts and proof of who is telling the "truth." Ratings are a numbers game. If your business or practice has a positive impact on its clients or patients, then positive ratings have the same opportunity to outweigh negative ones.
Providers have three options to improve their rating on Wellness.com:
Wellness.com members leave ratings to inform other people of their experiences. Ratings represent members' opinions. Wellness.com cannot edit these comments nor can we investigate them for accuracy.
Under federal law (the Communications Decency Act), because Wellness.com does not censor ratings or investigate them for accuracy, Wellness.com is not legally responsible for the ratings that members post, even if those remarks are defamatory. However, this law does not protect the member who writes the negative rating/review. Members may be held legally responsible for making false defamatory comments intended to damage a provider's reputation.
