It had been a while since I had reason to visit the best, but since we parted ways with Belle City quite some time ago when they got far too big for their britches, we've been loyal to Franksville Veterinary. We had a new kitten adopt us & she quickly became part of the family so we had to have her spayed & declawed. We took her in for her initial exam, shots, & had her tested for feline leukemia since we knew she'd have to be vaccinated before the surgery. We had always seen Dr. Minnis & she is a truly wonderful person. She saved my then 14 year old kitty that was sick with kidney problems & what the labs showed was kidney failure by giving her a very strong antibiotic injection & was prepared to show us how to give her sub-cu fluids to help her (& me). For anyone else she was a lost cause. But with special food from the vet and making sure she drank even if I had to do it with a syringe 1cc at a time, I wouldn't give up on her & neither would Dr. Minnis. Within a little over a week she was almost fully recovered and she's sitting with me now. She'll be 17 in March.
When we took little Sasha in, I asked for Dr. Minnis and to surprise (& I admit, a bit of dismay) I was told she no longer worked there. I felt a big lump in my throat, like Belle City all over again. BUT, we saw a very kind, albeshe very young, new v. When we first brought Sasha in, she had a puffed up 'coon tail and her back looked like a saw blade her hackles were up so high! Then Dr. Rossi came out to greet us in the waiting room & once Sasha was up on the table in the exam room, she calmed down & warmed up to Dr. Rossi in seconds. She sat like an angel & purred the rest of the visit. Even for her vaccinations. The only time the Dr. took her was to draw blood & that has always been my experience as it can be traumatic for an owner to watch since it's usually done in the neck & for your pet's safety, they have to restrain them pretty firmly. I'm not squeamish and most definitely understand that it is necessary to be sure she's healthy.
That being said, there was quite a bit more than I anticipated required for the spray & declaw than with any of the other cats I've ever had & I've had a few in life, as has my sister & parents, so we're extremely familiar with the procedure. Sasha had to have pre-op blood work, a prophylactic antibiotic, pain meds, we were told she was going to be sent home with an ecollar (the ones you usually see on dogs that look like a satellite dish around their neck) but when we picked her up they didn't have it on her & I didn't say anything. I couldn't have left that on her. I've never had a cat try to bite their stitches. We did opt to have her microchipped for an extra $42, but that wasn't the bulk of the expense. When all was said & done, we racked up $562 for just the spay & declaw with all the extra add ons. That's a LOT more than TWICE what it was the last time we had a cat neutered & declawed there. Even if it was almost 8 yrs ago.
All in all, I'm satisfied because I have a healthy, happy kitty & a happy little girl who wanted nothing else for her birthday than to rescue & adopt the Siamese kitten now called Sasha after we spent over a month trying to find her owner. She's in her forever home now and we're thankful she found & choose us.

I absolutely love Dr. Deb Hollis. I followed her to this clinic from her previous clinic even though it required me to drive an extra 25 minutes to get to her. She always answers my questions patiently, even when I turn into the crazy dog lady. She is patient and kind and helps me make informed decisions. She was even able to diagnose my Great Dane with Atypical Addisons Disease quickly without a ton of costly tests when she wasn't even showing all the classic symptoms. I don't think they are all about the money and I think they truly care about my dogs. We recently lost our elderly doberman to kidney disease and Doc Hollis, along with her staff, were amazing through the whole thing. I would recommend Dr. Hollis to anyone and everyone!

Our pet died in their care due to a mistake that they had made. I usually wouldn't leave reviews but I would never want someone to go through the same situation.

My pet almost died here, all because the female doctor didn't know what she was doing or just didn't care enough. I don't recommend this vet to anyone. If you love your pet and don't want to lose them to someone your suppose to trust, please don't go there. The doctor here is not trustworthy! I almost lost my precious friend.
