I had 2 upper crowns done in spring this year, 2021. It was written on paper that the price would be good for 60 days. When i went in for the 2nd crown 40 days later, i was told that porcelain crowns “increased in price just this past week” and will cost an extra $119.00 . Which i paid before sitting in the dental chair. She also wanted to be paid in full before the procedure, instead of after. (Something new they started this year. ) During the middle of getting the crown done , Dr Abate stopped and had me pay an additional $51.76 ! She claimed that she didnt see on the xrays that there was an old filling that needed replacing under the crown that she was replacing so that “increased the price”. I gave her the benefit of the doubt until i got both receipts for the checks i wrote that day. The “description of services” was left blank with only my check number and amount on the receipt so as to deny what those checks paid for that day .... very sneaky! Shortly after those two crowns were put in they both got infected. The first infection .... My face was swollen and had alot of pain! I found a new dentist to get some help and was put on Penicillin for 10 days and went to an Endodontic for a root canal on the one crown. The second crown got infected and had swelling ( i looked like a chipmunk for several days) just like the other one and was painful also. I also had to take Penicillin 4xdays for 10 days again. I can’t afford another root canal so right now im waiting to see if the infection comes back.....What frustrates me so much is that i wasnt having any problems with those 2teeth before she talked me into getting the crowns. How i wish i had listened to my gut feelings that day instead of being manipulated!

Went in for a crown and didn't feel a thing. It was great. Dr Abate is the gentlest devtist I've ever been to. Awesome experience

I will never go back. Just got a post card in mail addressed to 'valued patient' -screw them w/ how they treated me! Hate to see what they do to others!

Went to Dr. Abate for a few years. Never had any issues, always had healthy teeth and I didn't need any work done. Went in and the hygienist said everything looked great. Dr. Abate came and evaluated me for about 30 seconds and said I had 3 cavities. I went ahead and had those filled. Ever since those fillings, I had problems with sensitivity and pain where the cavities were filled. Went back 6 months later for my another cleaning. Hygienist said everything looked great. Again, Dr. Abate took about 30 seconds to 1 minute to evaluate me and stated I had 3 more cavities and a cracked tooth. I refused to get them filled and I went to a different dentist for a second opinion. Millennium charged me $41 for copies of the X-rays. The new dentist did not find any cavities or a cracked tooth, and had to take more X-rays because the copies that I paid for were crap. I will never go back here. After I had paid for my visit and extra for my x-rays, I have been getting threatening invoices stating that they are going to take me to court for $25. NEVER AGAIN.

I had to have 2 bridges redone because they were not set right, and recently had a root canal done wrong. She refused to refund my money, so now I am hiring a lawyer. Please look up reviews of any dentist or provider you go to first!

Let me just say this dental office will scam you out of house and home if you let them. They overcharge for everything and want to do root canals all the time. I had one root canal last year and they wanted to do another. I questioned it and went to another dentist to find out that I didn't need it. I called to tell them I was switching offices. I tried to get my dental xrays from them and they wanted $40 for them. You might as well pay a little extra to have them redone. Well, they never cancelled a cleaning that was scheduled for a couple months later when I told them I was leaving their office. I guess me telling them I was leaving wasn't straightforward enough. Now, I have received a small claims suit from Macomb County Courts. They are charging me for these appts for me and my daughter. It's $100 for them together. $50 a piece for a missed appt!! Ridiculous! THEN, to not receive a call or bill. They didn't even wait long to file it with the courts. It was less than two months when they filed a suit. SO, not only do I owe $100, but I owe $100 + $25 for court filings + $11 for certified mail. If I don't pay it and go to court then lose the courts said I have to pay that total $136 and the dental offices court fees! Oh, here's the kicker to it all - might want to keep this in mind if you ever think of going there - the courts said they are in there for suits every single Monday! Hah! Ridiculous. They are scammers.
