Dr. Syms was referred to me by another physician who needed an expert opinion on my possible condition. I have been returning for an annual examination ever since. I appreciate Dr. Syms' expertise and the way he explains issues in an understandable manner. I trust Dr. Syms and value his opinions. I would highly recommend Dr. Syms.

I voiced a few concerns I had after surgery with dizziness, a pulling sensation on the left side of my face and a brassy taste on the left side of my tongue to Dr. Syms and I asked him if the problem could be coming from the facial nerve in my ear. He said my "story" didn't add up and suggested I see a heart Doc. and a nerve Doc. I told him I already had and both ruled out any problems after a bunch of tests. Dr. Sym then said, "well there is such a thing as a bad doctor." I questioned what he meant and qualified that he meant the two doctors may have been bad doctors. He then said he could do a test that blew water and air into my ear, but he said I would flunk the test because my ear was a special ear. He then said he would suggest that I have the "chair test," but he said I wouldn't like it. I asked him questions about the chair test, but he did not answer them. I didn't understand the reasoning behind the test and was trying to let him know I was not understanding what and why he wanted the chair test done if the air and water blowing test would show that I flunked the test (Whatever that meant.) He told me to follow him, so I did and as we exited the examining room he pointed to the hall and said, "Go down the hall and turn left, which I did. It took me out of the office and in front of the elevator. I guess it was his way of telling me my appointment was over.

I was very impressed at how quickly Dr. Sym's staff followed up my referral by contacting me to schedule a consultation. I had a very pleasant experience at Dr. Sym's office. The entire staff was very professional yet, not condescending. They were very eager to welcome my questions and input as the patient. I received clear explanations to all of my questions.
I give a stellar recommendation!

In my first visit with Dr Mark Syms I enjoyed his easy speaking demeanor and over all interest in helping a client as an individual. Today I return for a second visit and will likely have more to say.

I have full faith and confidence in Dr Syms. It is difficult for people who are losing or have lost their hearing, and Dr Syms is as patient and competent a doctor as one could ask for. He may not tell you what you want to hear, but he does tell you what you need to know -- and that is what is important.
