I have been entrusting my furbabies care to Dr. Ruff for 5 yrs. BIG MISTAKE! What I thought was confidence in his abilities, is nothing more than Arrogance. Last year Violet, my 4 yr old corgi starting having repeated UTI’s all diagnosed by urinalysis. Not once did Dr. Ruff suggest a urine culture. Instead he jumped to X-Ray, which did not show anything. Her 4th UTI Dr. Ruff ordered an Ultrasound and diagnosed Violet with a Cystine bladder stone. Two Ultrasounds later and another UTI, Dr. Ruff insisted she needed a Cystotomy to remove the stone. On July 2, shortly after dropping Violet off for surgery I get a call from a Vet tech (I later found out was Jill Ruff) explaining “Violet was on the table under anesthesia & upon performing a 3rd ultrasound it appeared the bladder stone shrunk and Dr. Ruff needed ME to decide if he should move forward with surgery.” What?? Just two weeks prior based on a 2nd ultrasound Dr. Ruff said her bladder stone had gotten lager and that it had moved. Feeling confused, I asked to speak to Dr. Ruff. Jill very curtly told me “I couldn’t” explaining I needed to “decide quickly because they didn’t want to keep Violet under for too long.” I pushed back saying “I need Dr. Ruff to advise. . .” at which she blurted “HE Doesn’t Know What to do!” Finally Dr. Ruff came to the phone explaining Violet “Definitely had a bladder stone or a mass.” I agreed to surgery wondering all day what the reasoning was behind the call only to find from Dr. Ruff after surgery Violet Definitely DID NOT have a bladder stone or a mass. What he previously thought was a stone, was in fact scar tissue that caused a pelvic adhesion. He charged me $1000-full price for a surgery she DIDN’T need. Two days after painful unnecessary Open surgery, which could possibly cause more scar tissue leading to another pelvic adhesion, Violet has another UTI. His staff finally called to check on Violet 4 days after surgery & I explained her symptoms. 8 days post op and still no return call from Dr. Ruff. I have since spoken to several people who have similar stories of Dr. Ruff misdiagnosing their dog. Dr. Ruff is clearly too arrogant to admit when he is wrong or when something is beyond his expertise-like reading an ultrasound. His wife, Jill is right-“He doesn’t know what to do”

Both Dr Eubanks and Dr Ruff are amazing veterinarians. Very knowledgeable, care and comforting. They provide tried and true medications to lessen the cost, but has the newer meds if needed. They really care about their patients both small and Moms and Dads.

I Highly recommend these veterinarians!
