An appointment was set with Dr. Sunil Raichand for my mom's eye issues (since she is legally blind) and area of expertise advertised on his website, namely, as corneal specialist. A front-desk staff named Jennifer was informed via emails prior to setting any appointment for corneal examination and that he has medical equipment and expertise to address such such eye conditions. There were several problems with his eye care. He claimed that she had some mild macular degeneration in the good eye without running any objective eye tests. Another major red flag was doctor informed us about high eye pressure in one of her eyes and instead of addressing head on with any reasonable treatment plan, he said it should be immediately seen by glaucoma specialist. On his website, he states he is comprehensive ophthalmologist who treats glaucoma. He didn't do detailed corneal examination with eye testing equipment to find out the nature of the corneal injury in one of her eye. He lacked curiosity and know how to address the main reason for office visit, namely, comprehensive corneal examination.
