Two days before a 1/2 marathon in November 2014 I saw Dr. Lavin concerning plantar faciitis which caused me to limp in severe pain . He gave me a cortisone injection in the heel and not only was I able to finish the 13.1 mile race but I also took my division. I am very grateful to have a sports doctor who understands the complexities of athletes and compassion for the individual.
I am a hockey official, and I had a bone spur on a bunion that caused me crippling pain when I skated. Dr. Lavin shaved down the area during an outpatient surgery. He called me personally several times afterwards, in addition to follow-up appointments, to see how I was feeling. Dr. Lavin even scheduled my first follow-up appointment after his regular office time to check on the incision area. He was extremely conscientious, and I will be returning to see him if I have any other foot issues in the future.
