Awful service from ordering, equipment to delivery and pickup. Use Bay State Medical. And JH medical acts like the mega conglomerate it has become. Specifics: Portable oxygen condenser failed on a 100 mile trip after 4 hours; no technician could be reached re the "high traffic volume means your wait is less than 3 minutes oxymoronic answering service. Each person contradicted the last in terms of what insurance covered, weight of equipment (31 lbs, not 6 as claimed!) One-star is generous (the other foxy equipment works for now but who know how long???
This John Hopkins entity is a disgrace. Constant robo calls to replenish supplies. When you call for anything other than making a payment NO one answers the phone. They submitted the incorrect information to my insurance carrier 5 times and now want me to pay the bill.
Worst service possible. If you have a choice do yourself a favor. And find someone else. These people could care less about the clients. Trust me, it has been a horror calling every time.
When I was discharged from Sibley Hospital in Washington DC following an anterior procedure of total hip replacement surgery, I was issued a raised commode with metal arms. The commode was way too small (I am a large person) but it was all wrapped up and the PT team who I worked with did not bother to either see if it fit me or notice I was large (after working with me three times!). The metal "arms" were right where my incision was and squeezed against my dressing when I sat down and got up off the chair. After one day, the incision started to leak all out from the dressing where it had been pressed against the commode. I called pharaquip and they said since I had used the commode they wouldn't give me a new one or exchange it. I had to find a neighbor who could go out to a medical supply and find a commode I could get up and down on/off that would not scrape my wound. This is maddening and irresponsible first of the PTs at Sibley who didn't bother to measure me to see if I would fit on a standard commode and 2nd on the part of pharmaquip once they knew I had been issued equipment that damaged me. I subsequently had to go to the surgeon and be taught how to apply "wet to dry" dressings twice day and then visit him once a week to check the wound for several weeks until it began to recover from what the commode did to the incision wound.
I sent in a negative rating on Friday, May 18th. I was wrong to send it in and I apologize. Please remove it from your file. It referenced my recently departed wife, Harriet Doris Sturm
JH Pharmaquip is an outstanding provider. We have 4 adults using their services on a monthly basis and have only had one issue which they resolved quickly and to our satisfaction without us telling them what we wanted. The staff and management we interact with are pleasant, friendly, and professional.
The staff are hard to reach, have attitudes, and are often difficult to work with. I've had to use them due to insurance reasons, but would change in a heartbeat if it were possible. I really try not to leave negative reviews, but in this case, it is deserved.
The electronic answering service is terrible. The options do not include everything that a caller may need and there is no way to speak to a person. I need to replace a CPAP machine and have gone on the phone and now on the website and still not been able to get the service I need.
I left a message last week and I can't wait around to replace the machine. I've had it and am going to another provider
