Personable, wicked smart. Goes above and beyond. Kindness and compassion. If my attorney or therapist has an organized office...think it's a warning flag. If you're looking for a neat and tidy office - maybe they have nothing else to do

Cyd Koehn lost her right to parent her children after a false allegation of child abuse. Her children are not allowed to see her until they turn 18. Instead they were placed with her convicted domestic batterer ex-spouse with a history of alcohol abuse.

Cyd has been catering award-winning events in Des Moines, Iowa, for nineteen years. She had particularly loved her job, as it allowed her to prioritize parenting, with her in-home commercial kitchen. She scheduled events around her children's medical appointments, parent teacher conferences, and horseback riding lessons.

Although her husband Rick was charming toward the community, behind closed doors the marriage was characterized by physical and emotional abuse. After she was lifted and choked until she passed out in the garage in front of their child, she finally went to police. Rick was convicted and spent time in jail, and Cyd filed for divorce.

When Cyd defended herself in a scuffle with her teenager, Rick called DHS, accusing her of abuse. A Life Works Social Worker Lisa Richards who was seeing Rick after work hours was allowed to weigh in on Cyd’s psychological evaluation, to find her to have a personality disorder, although more qualified psychologist diagnosed her with PTSD from domestic abuse. Later she was accused of making a tear in her younger son's pajamas, when putting him in time out, and the children were removed from her custody, although evidence was not shown in court. Cyd was only allowed supervised visitation.

The GAL, Nicole Garbis Nolan, never bothered to talk to her outside the courtroom. In a Kafkaesque trial, Cyd was denied her advocate and her transcripts to prepare her own defense, her witnesses were blocked from testifying or had their testimony stripped from the record, and her public attorney cooperated with the prosecution, refusing to prepare key documents, leaving Cyd to write her own. In spite of sworn testimony by her psychologist stating that it was a travesty that she be forbidden to see her children based on a PTSD diagnosis, Cyd's parental rights were finally and fully terminated in February 2013. It is going on three years since her children have seen their mother. What a sad reflection on the functionality of DHS to take these children from a loving mother!

Sue works closely with the Polk County Juvinile Court and DHS. SHE is unethical and unprofessional. Her office is disgusting. I think she has a eating and hoarding illness. She will write a how the GAL and DHS want her too. NOT a good person. DO NOT TAKE your children to her!!
