If you are a first time pet owner, I highly recommend Deshon Animal Hospital as your choice of veterinarian. First Off the staff (Ivana, Leslie, and Brittany) are very knowledgeable and sensitive to all of your concerns and questions. My visits with Dr. Toler are always fast and pleasant. They handle your pet as if it was their own, give you training advice, offer pet grooming and boarding. The staff is also sensitive to my puppy's needs. For example, my puppy Cody is very spoiled and likes a lot of attention. The staff at Deshon Animal Hospital made sure to make his checkup/grooming visit very comfortable. They talked to him, held him and did everything possible to make him feel safe and secure while his mommy (Me) was away. I truly could not have picked a better veterinarian!

Dr Toler & Dr Rose both do a fantastic job!!!
They have taken care of our poodle safari for almost 9 years! he loves the attention and love he gets! Dr Toler also takes care of our large outside dog Rotter. In 2009 we lost our beloved dog Dexter and Dr Toler was so wonderful & compassionate. He came over to our home and took care of all of Dexter's arrangements. We love Deshon Animal Hospital and wouldn't trust our pets to any other vet! They have Total trust ALWAYS!

So I took my baby boy to see Dr.Toler May 2013 because I was told that he could possibly have a torn ACL. Denim had an x-ray performed at another vet and it showed no broken bones , but he did have a slight discoloration below the knee that looked like some sort of breakdown. Upon arriving to Dr. Toler I was told that an MRI would be 800.00 and that he would have to go to another facility and Dr. Toler of course would not get any of the 800.00 or Dr. Toler stated he could do an exploratory surgery for 1500.00 and if there was something wrong with Denim’s knee he could fix it while he was there. Because I love my pet and he could see that the minute I walked in I said ok sure let’s do that. Dr. Toler did the surgery; charged me $1500.00 and said nothing is wrong with his knee we did however do an x ray from the knee up to include the hip and it looks as though Denim has Hip Dysphagia. Ok so I trusted that diagnosis went I brought my dog home I began increasing his supplements and looking into rehabilitation. Denim just seemed to get worse as a matter of fact he was even more lame than he was than his initial visit to Dr. Toler except now he had a huge scar. Denim recovered from surgery at Deshon Animal Hospital and was under Dr. Toler’s care for three months. He had a bacterial infection from his e-collar, an ear infection, as well as infected raw paws when I picked him up. I of course was charged 1500.00 for what was suppose to be state of the art laser surgery, charged for boarding the entire 3 months (which I totally understand), and I also had Denim who was 8 neutered of course at Dr. Toler’s suggestion. Denim’s surgery was June 2013 lets fast forward ahead to October 2013 Denim continues to have a limp but is now putting more weight on his leg. I thought well we will do rehabilitation because per Dr. Toler who I trusted Denim would be back to normal and good as new in a few months. Ok so now it is 1.17.2014 Denims leg seemed to swell overnight so I thought he maybe had cellulitis due to his surgery or an infection of some sort at the site. So we immediately called around for Emergency Care. I called Dr. Toler the place where Denim had his surgery and aftercare I was told because I had a balance of almost $1100.00 when I had already paid about $3500.00!!! that if I made a payment of $200.00 then an office visit fee of $40.00 that I would be seen. Really where is your concern for your patient who YOU operated on??? Where is your compassion. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to pay the bill but I lost my job in September 2013 months after Denims surgery and paid on his bill all the way until then. I ended up taking Denim to a VCA Emergency care because I thought it would be less expensive to only find out x-rays would be $400.00 upfront which I did not have. So I did my research and called the Humane Society of Atlanta I was advised to bring Denim there first thing Tuesday morning because they were closed for the King Holiday. So I stayed up all weekend taking care of Denim trying to make sure he was comfortable by Tuesday Denims leg doubled in size. We arrived at The Humane Society and hour early, the Doctors there were very compassionate and after observing Denim said 8 words I never thought I would hear “ I AM ALMOST POSITIVE IT IS CANCER”. They did x rays and sure enough my baby boy had Osteosarcoma that has metastasized to his lungs he was in severe pain and given only a few weeks to live. I immediately made the decision to have him put down because there was nothing they could do with STAGE 4 CANCER. The Vet immediately asked : What did your x rays show after Denim’s Surgery? Was a full xray done of his Right Leg since he was exploring for $1500.00? What about Blood work surely he had Blood work after the surgery as a follow up? Surely he had Blood work Before the surgery for pre-op? My answer to all of this was NO..I was told his CANCER WAS MISSED and the 1st little twinge and limp that prompted me to seek treatment was at that time stage 1 and good have been diagnosed and treated if only a FULL LEG XRAY OR BLOODWORK was done. Now My beautiful baby boy is dead 9 months later and all he cared about even after I had 2 doctors ask for his records was the 1100.00 that I owed never mind the $3500.00 or the value of my baby priceless who is now dead!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS MAN!!! AND SHAME ON YOU!!!

We really appreciate Dr. Toler and his staff. Our dog Raini was facing a life threatening concern. Dr. Toler was not at the time Raini's primary doctor whom we were unable to contact, however this did not reflect in the care and service to Raini and our family. Our dog is alive today, healthy and happy thanks to our primary physician Dr. Toler. We will forever be thankful.
