I went here to see counselors. I had one out of three counselors that were good. One counselor chewed ice chips the whole time she talked and listened and checked her cell phone every five minutes. Very unprofessional. My last counselor was the best. She talked me into leaving my current psychiatrist and coming to one of Six County's Nurse Practitioners. Worse mistake I've ever made. You have to call their nurse call line to give a message or medicine request. It always took the nurses at least five days to reply. I called one afternoon, after finding out that I had thyroid cancer to ask if my NP could prescribe me something for my nerves to help me get through the operation and the difficult time. I have never been on nerve pills before. The nurse who answered my call told me that having thyroid cancer was "NO bid deal" and that she had endometrial cancer and she got through it just fine. So she asked again if I wanted to go ahead and ask the NP for something, which I said yes. It took six business days for someone to call me back. The NP prescribed me the lowest dose of Valium 5 mg once per day. After taking this for a week, I told my counselor and she told me to call them and ask for it to either be increased or changed to something else. Another four days went by and when the nurse called me back, she said the NP said I should take one 5 mg pill every day. That's what I was already taking! The nurse argued with me that before it was to take prn (as needed), but I was already taking it once per day and it wasn't doing any good. The nurse said she would send another note to the NP. I waited two weeks, went through my thyroid surgery and never received another phone call of any nerve medicine to help me through my difficult time. I wrote a complaint letter to the office manager. She called and basically told me that the nurses were understaffed, didn't acknowledge the rudeness of the nurse. Then a couple of months later, I needed some papers filled out for my insurance. I was told that I had to pay $20 to have them filled out. I waited for six weeks and never got the papers back. When I asked about them, they didn't know anything about them. I asked for a refund and that's been over a year ago. If you can possibly find another place to go, I would highly recommend staying away from Six County in Zanesville. I even went to their house out in the country as a "retreat" instead of being committed to the hospital. My counselor told me that a doctor would sit down and talk with me and the nurses would also talk with me one-on-one and in a group setting. I was there three days and never had a talk with a nurse or doctor. All I did was sleep, eat and watch tv. Big help! Six County is a joke, but they should be shut down because people in need of help (like I did) depend on them and they don't come through with any help.

Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. Their office was simple enough to find. I usually have a poor sense of direction but I found it fairly easily. I wasn't completely satisfied with the way my appointment went. I think it could have gone better. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their appearance. They strive to maintain a professional appearance and look their best at all times. Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. At other places I've been to, it's always bothered me when they postpone my appointment, but they've never done that here.I was not allowed to make an appointment for a year, due to missing 3 counseling appointments due to the death of my sister. So, I was suppose to be able to make an appointment on Nov. 1, 2012, and to my amazement I was told I would have to be put on a waiting list. I felt as though I had done all this struggling and mental suffering for a year awaiting to get back in to se my Dr. for nothing.....I am very discusted. My mental health is as important as anyone elses, I have a family too. They should of told me a year ago I would wait a YEAR plus however long. Thoroughly discusted.
