Sadly, this provider texted others and checked her phone messages during my session time with the provider. In a subsequent session I told her neither of those practices were acceptable to me when I was paying for her time and expertise in a private consultation. She apologized and said what she did “was not ok” and that it would not happen again. We finished the second session. In the third session the provider again texted others while encouraging me to continue to talk to the provider. She was clearly focused on what she was texting and not on what I was saying. She told me she did not have a receptionist and had to do everything herself, so she needed to text. I found this behavior incredibly unprofessional and unethical and truly astounding. I never returned to this provider.
