Pet Care Specialists has three veterinarians. I've been going to one of them, Doc Tracy, as I call her, since even before she was at Pet Care, and followed her over there. ALL of the vets at Pet Care are highly skilled and knowledgeable, and I'm happy with all of them and have been going to Pet Care for years (I'd say 15 to 20 years). They always answer every question I have. I can call any time if I have more questions. When they provide treatment for one of our dogs, they always call a few days to a week later to see how things are going. In the case of major treatment or surgery, they always provide a estimate beforehand.
In the cases in which I've had to put a dog to sleep, NOBODY is more compassionate and caring, and LORD KNOWS it's not easy for them, with me being near inconsoleable during the wretched experience. They always send a card afterwards, and they have even donated money to help another animal in memory of my dogs.
Over the years, some of the recommendations they've had for treatment of our dogs has since changed. This tells me that they keep current on the literature, studies and their training.
We have had Newfoundland dogs since 1989, and we use Pet Care Specialists as our groomers. First of all, it's not easy finding somebody who will groom a Newfie in the first place. Secondly, they do a GREAT job, and they LOVE my dogs. In fact, our groomer gave me two pictures recently, one of our Newfie on his very first groom and one of his very last groom. I treasure those pictures and have them on my desk where I can see them all the time. Their prices are very reasonable, too.
The staff who mans the front desk is AWESOME! They're so good, they can field my questions for me, and oftentimes I don't even need to interrupt the doctors to get advice or answers.
I HIGHLY recommend Pet Care Specialists. We have three dogs (soon to be four again), and we drive 30 miles to get to their office, even though there are closer veterinarians. They're worth the drive. :o)
