Access Rehab had my paperwork for over a week from my doctor's office requesting rehab but I never heard from them. I had to call them and then they told me it was too late in the day and they would have to call me the next day to set up an appointment. The next day they asked for my social security number and I refused to give it to them. I asked why they needed it and they said to verify my insurance. I told them they only needed my insurance ID number to verify because I NEVER give out my social security number to any doctor's office. Their accountant/billing person verified to me and their supervisors that they only need my insurance ID number but the owner and staff still refused to verify my insurance without my SSN. They then said their computer required they enter my social security number. Then they said I could pay cash without the ins. contract amt. and that they wouldn't bill my ins. co. because I wouldn't give them my SSN! I called my ins. com. and verified that they only use my insurance ID and NOT my SSN to verify coverage.
