I saw a nurse midwife Kathy Mark, who said she would try to accommodate my request on how I wanted my birth. There was not an emergency, but when the time came, everything I wanted went out the window and she didn't care at all. You might wait a short time and another day you will wait an hour to find out that your provider had to go to another birth and you have to reschedule. A few times, the wait was absolutely ridiculous. It messed up my entire day. One of the first things I noticed about this business was how many different areas of the building were handicap-accessible. I have been to other places where I couldn't tell how someone in a wheelchair could even enter, but they really spent a lot of time to accommodate people with all different needs. Every time I visit, I have to remind them why I'm visiting them. It makes me feel like they don't care about me. Their staff is very friendly and professional.
The office was easy enough to find. The atmosphere was nice in the waiting area, and there is a play area for children. The doctor was nice and I felt comfortable with him, but I did not like the rush he was in he gave me his shpill on how I should start feeling better(which I had just mentioned that I really felt pretty good) and was talking a million miles per hour. Needless to say it was almost like taking your kids to McDonalds because it was so fast and so busy! I waited for about 45 minutes total and the way he talked was like being pregnant was no big thing. Also anything you expect from a first visit didn't happen. There was no examination of any kind.
I had an appointment with Jessica Hess to find my IUD. The assistant asked if I would like to go ahead and get my annual done at this time. I agreed she said that Jessica had been with the company for 2 years. I got in to my gown and watched the informational t.v. for about an hour and a half waiting, which surprised me, considering the front desk told me she was ahead of schedule. When she finally arrived she asked what my main concern was,did my pap smear, did my breast exam, and an ultrasound and was out the door in 5 minutes. I still had questions. It was a horrible experience. I was trying to ask questions as she walked out the door. I have never had a NURSE be in such a rush to get me out the door. She told me if I don't hear anything from them it is good news, but how long do I wait? Do they send a letter that everything is o.k.? I wouldn't judge the entire facility on just one NURSE. The atmosphere was great. Hopefully the other staff is more interested in patients and not the pay check.
