I've been here 3 times with my dog. The first 2 times were nothing special, got in, got examined, paid, got out. However, this time was atrocious. Now that Corona is around they asked me to stay in my car and the vet would come out and get my dog. cool. I get there 10 min early and call them to let them know I'm outside. They confirm and let me know the vet is running 20 min late. I'm not happy about it but life happens. End up waiting another 40min past my appointment with no updates. I decide to leave. When I get home I call the office and ask "what happened"? They say "Is this Mr._____", me "yes it is, what happened, I've been waiting outside and it's cold, I had to leave". Male Receptionist states "oh she went outside and you weren't there, would you like to reschedule"? I then ask him the important questions; why didn't you update me when we passed the 20 min mark?, If she came out and I wasn't there - why didn't you call me?, Is this how you treat your customers". To which he replied, "THIS IS HOW WE DO THINGS HERE, again would you like to reschedule?" Why would I want to reschedule if this is how you treat your customers? No thank you! I then asked to speak to the Vet and the receptionist made up some more excuses until I finally asked him to just have the vet call me when she can.
Seriously poor customer service and complete unwillingness to acknowledge short comings.

Dr. Carlson is an absolutely wonderful vet! She has been my vet for years, and in fact, I feel so comfortable and confident with her, that I now live in Prospect Heights, and still travel to Evanston to see her. The only way I will leave there, is when/ if she retires.

I am a cat sitter/owner, and saw Barbara Carlson DVM, twice while our neighbour was out of town. Carlson was just great; she knew the cat, spent a good deal of time with us and him, taught me to draw blood to test his sugar, and took my phone calls as well. The prices are VERY reasonable, and Carlson is good. I've had animals and good vets all my life, and I would definitely recommend this woman. The hospital is not super high-tech, but there are specialists for fancy equipment. Definitely a good place. We have another neighbour that loves Carlson for her dog. :)

I having been taking my dogs to Howard Street for at least 30 years. Dr. Carlson is so knowledgeable - and she and all the staff are welcoming and kind with you and your pet.

Yes, I never forget my pet's annual check-up thanks to them

Yes, I could tell they were cleaned regularly

Immediately! They gave me a friendly greeting as soon as I walked in
