They didn't seem too happy to be helping me the front staff needs to be made aware of he fact that people in the waiting room can hear what they say even their not so noce comments. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but they could have been nicer. one appointment they never called me to tell me the person who takes care of me was out for a couple months and i would have to come back , i didn't have a problem with this until i had been sitting there for 15 minutes before they took care of me and that only happened because i went up there again it was a Friday and they knew he had been off all week why couldn't they call me instead of making me waste my time and gas... they always make you wait a while for your appointment .,They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information i need a new mask thing the rubber thing they still have not sent me an email telling me it was time to replace it which they sid they do. so no i wasn't too impressed with their level of service. It wasn't terrible but I think that I probably could've gotten better service somewhere else.

It seems like the recently added competition in the sleep medicine arena has forced Apnea care to behave unethically. They phoned me repeatedly to get me to come in and upgrade my equipment – telling me I was eligible and that insurance would cover it. I finally made an appointment. I was heavily pressured to make another appointment – right away! - with their Doctor partner (Amherst Sleep Medicine) to ensure my prescription air settings were appropriate. I knew I needed to check with my primary physician first, and when I did and he totally disagreed that I needed another sleep study. So, had I proceeded with the sleep study, it would have been at my expense. As a result of my visit to Apnea Care, I was given a new CPAP machine, and I paid ~$250 at that time, with the understanding that insurance would cover the rest. Then I began receiving invoices from Apnea Care. I was told this was ‘rental’ – these invoices eventually totaled another ~$250. I was upset and said I would not pay, as I was never told of this additional cost, and had I known this was going to cost $500 out of pocket, I would NEVER have purchased it! My old one works fine. They threatened to take my bill to a collections agency and as I was in the midst of refinancing my mortgage I did pay them, but under protest. Bottom line – Apnea Care seems desperate for revenue and will behave unethically as a result. I do NOT recommend them.
