They told me a little bit about my treatments' risks and benefits, but I still didn't feel like I knew as much as I wanted to know. I don't think they were very experienced or well-trained. They didn't know what they were doing at all. The office was easy enough to find. They're really great about taking their time with me, and they don't mind answering my questions. I've never felt like an annoyance to them no matter how many questions I have.
We have been waiting two days plus a weekend to get a tech service visit--my husband's wheelchair brakes are broken, so I cannot leave him alone. Have been told for two days they would come that day, but could not predict when. Did not call to update us; didn't answer the phone or return calls after 3 pm Friday. I have stayed home from work for two days. Now it is Monday, 11 AM and no word. It is lucky that my husband doesn't live alone. Another time we ordered a repair of a footrest, didn't hear back for many weeks, when I called they had lost the order, and lost the other footrest we had left with them. This is nothing more that just a warehouse with employees pretending they know what they are doing! Watch out.
Buyer beware! This company changed hands at the end of 2009 and since then there has been huge turnover in staff and business practices. They were trying to get me to agree to a monthly $100 upcharge for my monthly supplies because my insurance company was not able to give them a stipend for the amount they wanted for my supplies. ACP said they would take a loss if they went by my insurance company's copay rate. I called my insurance company and they said the company has a commitment to provide my supplies at the agreed-upon amount -- the upcharge is not legitimate. I tried to work with ACP, but they would not budge. They wanted me to pay an extra $100 per month. I left them and went to another medical supplies company suggested by my insurance company and there has been no problem. I am able to still pay the copay. Customers of ACP, beware that you do not have to pay the upcharge. There are other supplies companies (Sterling Medical in NJ) who will not upcharge you. Protect yourself!
This place is not a medical office, they sell medical equipment like wheelchairs and a variety of other items. We needed a wheelchair. The man who came out was so charming, seemed to know what he was doing, and took all the measurements needed for a custom fitted chair. He said we would have our chair in two weeks. He explained how a host of special features would make the life of our Parkinson's person a blissful new experience. For the next 19 weeks until the chair finally arrived, we could not get answers and when we called we went straight to voicemail. On the rare ocassion that we got a person we were always told that they would call us right back, in 10 - 15 minutes -- they never called at all. The chair arived yesterday, and sadly something went wrong in the measuring I guess... the chair does not fit, she cannot touch the ground in it, etc. Dreading having to start the return process.
The staff is very friendly but they're telling you what you want to hear and don't deliver. Waiting on two parts for a wheelchair since 8/9/12 and we still don't have them. Appointments are not always met and need rescheduling. When they came out (home visit) they brought no parts with them, waste of time, theirs and mine. I will never do business with them again and BTW......I'm still waiting on my parts, pull to lock brakes and a trout to ease my mothers arm pain. Extremly disappointed and irrate!!!!
