I was extremely impressed with this vet. They gave me all the time I needed to answer all my questions. They had other patients waiting but didn't rush me at all. They are very knowledgeable and gentle and sensitive to my worries/concerns as well as to my dog.

I brought my dog here who was critically ill because my vet was out of town. He sent her home with meds when really he should have immediately hooked her up to an IV and hospitalized her. The next day when my vet was back he read the blood work from Tanneberger and was surprised she was still alive. He couldn't believe they sent her home. She passed away the next day. And for two years they sent me notices on that she was due for a visit even though I told them she died. DO NOT bring your dog here, they don't have any sympathy for animals it is just a business to them.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!!! I brought my dog here for a routine dental cleaning and to have two lumps removed one from his shoulder and one from his hip. Dr. Ryan advised he would be preforming the procedure. I signed a surgical consent stating if anything abnormal was found to fix while the dog was still under anesthesia and I would pay for whatever needed to be repaired.

When Storm was picked up Tannenberger staff advised Storm had two broken teeth one needed to be removed and one needed to be filled. The staff member advised an emergency case came in and was more important than Storm so they had to take him out of anesthesia and tend to the other animal. The two lumps had been removed, appeared approximate and sutured closed. An appointment was made a week later for Storm to have the tooth removed and the other tooth filled.

Both wounds dehisced. The wounds had been sutured closed with chromic gut (an absorbable suture – why??). The wounds had been sutured only once instead of the fascia sutured once then the skin sutured once (which is the standard of care). The wounds were re stitched the following visit when the dog had his dental work done.

After picking my dog up from the second dental visit where my 7 year old lab had to be put under anesthesia for the second time in two weeks Dr. Ryan advised the tooth on the upper right was extracted and he filled the tooth on the bottom right. My dog was sent home with antibiotics, pain medication and ordered to eat only soft food for one week. There was no discount on anesthesia.

Over the next two months we noticed our fun loving yellow lab tremor when he consumed something cold, occasionally after he chewed something and began to drool excessively and eat his dinner much slower than normal.

On February 14th I brought my dog back to Tannenberger Vet Hospital and saw Dr. Emilie and advised her of his symptoms. Dr. Ryan was consulted because he did the initial procedure and was in the building. Dr. Ryan advised the root was still in the dogs mouth and needed to be removed. No explanation was given as to why the root was left in my dog’s mouth. I have asked various vets and researched possible reasons a vet would leave a root behind a dogs mouth and each vet I spoke with said this would cause infection, possible abscess, additional pain and sensitivity to the sight as well as excessive drooling.

I brought my dog back to have the root removed on April 4th. The owner did this surgery, Dr. Tony. stated he removed the rest of the root, put my dog on antibiotics, pain medication and wet food for two weeks.

Two weeks after the surgery I noticed my dog being lethargic, excessive drooling, blood drool and very difficult time eating. At this point I could not bring my dog back to this facility, I brought my dog to Brown Animal Hospital, advised them of his symptoms and the took an x-ray. The x-ray showed ANOTHER piece of root in my dogs mouth. This needed immediate surgery which required anesthesia again (4th time in six months). This vet removed the root, did a follow up x-ray, put my dog on pain medication, antibiotics again and required my dog eating soft food again for another week.

This tooth cost me nearly $2,500. I couldn't be more angry that my dog had to endure so much pain, anxiety and suffering because of the poor skills of the doctors at this vet hospital!
This provider I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long. I definitely don't trust their advice. They're only concerned about themselves. I felt bad for my pets because they were so anxious to leave, I've never experienced a reaction like that before. The veterinarian didn't even do anything to try to calm them down. I thought their pricing was very fair. I have been to other places that charge an arm and a leg and I was happy to see that they weren't one of them.
