In the evening, our dog jumped from the couch and hurt his front leg/ shoulder. Tried calling, but just rang - no voice-mail or other contact instructions. Drove there in the morning. Sign on door said they opened at 9am that day. About 9:05 a woman came and informed us there was no doctor on duty. She offered that we could drive to their other location, but the doctor was not there either. Did tell us about an emergency hospital 2 hours away. Luckily he seemed to be adjusting okay and we baby'd him till we got home to his regular vet. Not that it would've resolved our issue, but it'd be helpful if there was at least an informative answering machine.
