I wasn't greeted when I walked in the door. No one seemed to notice or care that I was there, and when I was given an orientation and tour, they didn't seem to care about that, either.

After being a student at Rose Hill for two months and seeing everything there, I honestly would not choose to place my loved one there. Sure, there are some truly kind folks in the care teams, but there are some nasty ones who throw it off balance. A lot of the staff (mostly the CNAs) act like taking care of the elderly is a pain to them, and they're impatient. Some of them are terribly rough with their care. I've encountered a few of the staff members talking about the residents to their roommates and ridiculing them behind their backs. The residents are only given showers twice or three times a week, and are thrown into a terribly monotonous schedule, and complain of having nothing to do, wanting to go home, or simply not wanting to be there. I've also noticed that many people placed in Rose Hill lose a surprising amount of weight in a short time due to their disinterest in the food. It was tough for me to feed some of them, and watch them eat what looked like was given absolutely no effort.

Overall, you should try to find somewhere else. There are better places than Golden Living Rose Hill Nursing Home. Note, this is not a biased opinion. They have not wronged me in any way, but from what I've seen, they have harmed the residents.

Wouldn't recomend..my mother hated this place...she went to the hospital for servere deydration...and the dr there said the dehydration is what caused her death..as long has she could walk and get around she was ok..but then we went there one day and they had her in a diaper...and she couldn't feed herself......so she just layed there and eventually died..DON'T PUT ANYONE THERE...

Spare your loved ones the agony of this Nursing Home. My family had terrible experiences at this facility. The finance executive (billing office) was dishonest and our family had to pay out of pocket expenses that should have been covered by Medicare. We were told that my father had reached his maximum potential for physical therapy rehabilitation though he could barely walk without assistance when we transferred him to another facility. At the new facility he began physical therapy immediately and within one month he was physically strong and competent. When my father could not feed himself at the Rose Hill facility, the food tray was left in front of him unattended and then later removed with the food contents untouched. On numerous occasions at the Rose Hill facility, the trash in my father's room was overflowing and the room was unclean and odorous. My family and I had to ask for towels (to clean the room) as well as spare trash bags. My hope in taking the time to complete this review is to prevent other families and their loved ones from having to endure the unpleasant experiences at this Nursing Home.
