We have normally had a longer then expected wait time. Hard to see the doctor ... we were almost always seen nurses too. My first child has baby asthma so we had a breathing machine at home that was very efficient. We were pushed into purchasing another machine for our second child. It was a little fishy since they had the machines in the office. So they prescribed this new machine, even though we have a working one at home. This new machine broke the second day. I voiced this one of the nurses, that we didn’t need the other machine and that this new one had broken on the second day. She told me to call the number on the box and take care of it. (Most places will give you a 30 day return on merchandise. If they are going to talk you into using there equipment and billing your insurance they should at least stand behind it.) After politely voicing my disappointment with this new machine we were dropped from the practice. This doctor is a bad choice, because if you question them in any way they will drop you from the practice, even if your kids are asthmatic and sick at that time.

Dr. Touchette has been our pediatrician for 16 years and we can't imagine life without him. He is the most professional, caring pediatrician I could possibly hope for. I am always amazed at how much time he spends with us during an appointment. He is genuinely concerned not only about the current health issues of my children, but always takes extra time to ask about school, sports, and their personal interests. He is always up on current technology and health care issues. He seems to always have a recommendation for a new treatment or standard. Many of my friends go to Potomac Pediatrics and all I have ever heard is praises. Another big plus is that he always follows up after the kids have had an accident, serious illness or have been prescribed a medication they have never taken before. It's very reassuring to have him call in the evening or weekends to check on the kids to follow up. My oldest is very disappointed that soon she'll have to choose a general practice physician as she will be too old to go to the pediatrician! As a side note, Dr. Touchette also has encouraged my daughter in her pursuit to become a doctor and has written letters of recommendation for both leadership forums and for university applications. I wish there were more doctors like him!
