Dr. Shallin is not a caring doctor. I have seen him many times. Most of the time he doesn't have sound/good medical advice. Isn't really willing to help you with your concerns. I agree with other review that his nurse Janie is dreadful and unpleasant.

I have discovered that Dr Shallin is not very knowledgeable about the two chronic conditions from which I suffer, but he is okay if the patient knows enough about their care to dictate to him what the patient needs. Also, I'm pretty sure he smokes, as he reeks of cigarettes every time he gets near me during an exam. Not a good sign.
His nurse Janie is dreadful: opinionated, hateful, ignorant and unpleasant. She leaves VM messages as if she is dictating from Dr. Shallin when she is really just leaving her uninformed opinions. I hate having to deal with her every time I go in the office.
I've been a patient here for almost two years and am actively looking for another primary care physician.

I have never had a problem trying to schedule an appointment with Dr. Shallin. There have been numerous occasions where I have had x-rays and/or blood tests and, Janie (Dr. Shallin's Nurse) has always called me with the results of the tests. This aspect of Dr. Shallin's practice is a "deal breaker" for me because I want to know the results of the tests I had to take; trust me when I say that I had been inconvenienced at the time of the tests! I have recommended Dr. Shallin and his partner to anyone who has asked me for the name of a good doctor!
