Had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Charles O'Connor. Dr. O'Connor and his whole staff made the whole experience a lot easier than I ever expected. Everyone was very nice and pleasant through the whole procedure and everything was done on schedule with minimum wait time. I highly recommend this office!

They gave me no information at all. They quickly hushed the thought of me or anyone else mentioning that my injury could possibly be related to my work. Therefore, I was left looking for second opinions. Now, I'm doing much better since being away from my occupation which did included spraying 10 to 12 hours a day. I sprayed mostly styrene, vinyl chloride, benzene, Methyl Ethyl Ketones, MEKP900, hydrogen peroxide, cobalt, toluene and naptha without a respirator for 13 years. And now I know why I was left with a hush -hush answer. It was for good reasons. A doctor can't get paid for his services if it is work related. He may know that it is work related but will he be paid by the insurance company if he is not approved to help you? NO! So, why not just tell a little lie and do the surgery. What can the patient know that I don't know? Sometimes "Ignorance is Bliss." I will just answer all the patient's questions with a quick "No" That way, he won't get his concerns and questions answered correctly. Regardless of my experience, I now have 7 other opinions from 2 neurologists, 2 internal and 3 occupational lung disease specialists, who have all agreed that it is work related. Inhalation of corrosive chemicals, such as hydrocarbons, will cause Barrett's diseases. GERD is not always the safe and simple answer. This is a perfect example of a DR making no effort by not looking, caring, or even asking into my past history. It just goes to show that money speaks and sick people come and go. What this means for you and I is that they would rather quickly diagnosis you with a simple community type related disease such as Barrett's rather than the real obvious truth. The medical community has come a long way since the 70s and 80s. There is now scientific evidence and proof that some of these common diseases are misdiagnosed and are simply related to some occupations.. But, with big insurance companies, such as, worker's compensation, these doctors are asked to lie in order to receive more. The medical standards that you and I hope for does not exist.. It is so much easier to sit in a dugout, get paid, and then lie. It's much harder to take the field and be a professional who holds truth with his own oath and does the right thing no matter the costs or kick back. But, it's hard to get paid if it's work related! Right. So let's compromise our oath in order to be paid, and hope that one day the truth will come out later rather than sooner. And, maybe by then, hopefully everyone will have forgotten or the patient is dead.
