Let me start by saying that for the past 8 years, I thought that the sun rose and set on Dr. Bellamy. He was so important to my family that we continued to use him as our primary care physician even after we moved two hours away. He was always worth the trip. He never rushed you, always had time to speak with you and always made you feel that your health was important to him. Lately, I fear, this has not become the case. The last time I saw him, he wrote me a prescription that would help me sleep while attempting to get comfortable with my sleep apnea unit. He was imperative that I not take this medicine without using the unit. The script was for one or two pills as needed, When I contacted his office to tell him that the medication was not working, a nurse (or someone) from his office advised me that he said to just increase the medication. After his initial warning, this was unacceptable to me. However, I chalked it up to him being busy and not careless. I stopped taking the Rx and quit using the unit.
Some time later, my wife was suffering a sinus infection which she's had before. She called his office to get a prescription (to be honest, we did this on occasion to avoid the two hour trip). She was assured that a prescription would be called into our drug store by 5 p.m. (this was a Friday, there are no office hours on Saturday). Anyway, no prescription, no call back from the office person she dealt with.
She suffered through the weekend. I called the office for her, on Monday. spoke with a very nice lady, verified all our druggist, call back info. and told her about the previous Friday. She assured me that she would have the matter taken care of or call me back. Again, no call...no prescription.
Let me just say that if the Doctor was uneasy about prescribing for this malady without seeing my wife, I would absolutely brought her down to his office immediately or at the very least, the first open appointment. However again, no call, no prescription. I'm not sure if Brian's practice has suddenly gotten too big. I'm not sure how Obamacare affects him...but I do know that our bills were always paid and, like I said, thought this Doctor was the best. Now, we're done. Even if he never got the messages, he's responsible for his staff. I can no longer in good faith recommend Dr. Bellamy.
