Within the past 18 months I had extensive work done by Dr Olsen (over $4000 w/ me having no insurance). I then moved out of state. Shortly after moving I began to undergo problems with a crown that Dr Olsen had put in. I had inflamed gums and fairly severe tooth pain. I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth. I went to a local dentist and had a full set of xrays done. The crown Dr Olsen did has a tangible ledge and there is open contact where food was being trapped. Bottom line the crown needed to be replaced. This is at a cost of $1400! I got a second opinion and the result was the same... a new crown was needed. I called Dr Olsen's office to ask what we could do about this. I made 4 calls over a 12 day period. I asked them to contact my new Dentist, I offered to send them the xrays showing the problems and basically got nowhere with them. I was never able to speak with Dr Olsen directly which was odd. 2 days before my appointment to have the tooth repaired locally Dr Olsen's staff relayed a message that Dr Olsen would repair the tooth. I reminded them that I no longer lived in Utah and that I had an appointment to have the work done here. To fly back there was impossible and would cost close to $900. All I was asking was for Dr Olsen to stand behind his work. The problem with the crown is evident in the Xrays. I didn't ask for a full refund just some help with the $1400 cost of repairing the work done by Dr Olsen. I was polite but persistent in my calls and emails to Dr Olsen's office but I got nowhere. So all in all a very expensive lesson was learned - Dr Olsen does not stand by his work. Rather than discuss the problem with me he hid behind his office staff. A crown should not need to be replaced so soon after installation. I did not damage it in anyway there was a problem with it from the very beginning. Yet I have to pay for a new crown. Dr Olsen's office is happy to take your money. I had to pay up front using my credit card so they were paid in full. I can only advise people on what I have gone through and hope they have a better experience than I did.
