I made an appointment with this facility initially back in August. My appointment was canceled and/or rescheduled several times until October 12th. The visit itself was perfectly fine and professional: Dr. Giordano was helpful, made me feel comfortable, and I was confident he would be my new dentist going forward. He informed me I had multiple cavities and that I should make an appointment to come in to fill them; in particular, one should be filled immediately. I had known I had a cavity in that particular location, and had hoped they would be able to fill it in sooner rather than later.
Thus began the glitches. Their first available appointment was not until Dec. 15 - two months away. They provided me with four separate appointments, beginning in the middle of December for my necessary dental work.
Several weeks later, I received a phone call from the office, but no message. When I called back to make sure everything was okay, I was promptly told my appointments had been canceled because someone else in my family had neglected to pay his/her own individual bill. There was no indication that they planned to speak to me to find out what the circumstances were; instead, they just point blank canceled all of my appointments.
After much begging and pleading with them to keep my appointments, they agreed to keep only one. During this discussion, I was informed I had no dental insurance. I intended to pay out of pocket, however, my health insurance switched during this time and the new one which had better dental coverage would go into effect on Jan. 1st. I asked if I could possibly keep my initial appointment, but retroactively apply the bill to the new health insurance. I was immediately shut down and told no. When I asked when the next available appointment was after my new health insurance kicked in, I was told the end of February.
Not only did they cancel my appointments without discussing the circumstances with me, they made assumptions about whether or not I could pay my bills on time due to the actions of another family member. They chose to give me no options and appeared to have no concern over the fact that I have now had a cavity that, by the dentist's own admission, needed to be filled immediately. By their calendar, it would not be filled for another two and a half months, despite having already waited five months since I originally made contact. I was willing to wait, because I did like Dr. Giordano. However, asking me to wait another two months for a pressing health issue that has only grown worse, after the more than five that I had already been waiting was enough for me.
I'm incredibly disappointed with the increasingly limited accessibility this office has as well as how they treated me throughout the process. I liked Dr. Giordano very much, but I will not be returning to this office again.
