I had been a patient of Dr. Parran for over five years, annual check-ups and bi-annual cleanings. I would always pay my co-pay on the scene and never had to pay anything additional. One day this past Spring, I got a bill in the mail. I called Maya, the office manager, for an explanation what this bill was for. She started using terms I was unfamiliar with and I was confused. I told her I was holding the itemized bill in my hand and that all she had to do was to pull up on her computer the same bill and just go over it with me line by line. She refused, telling me I would have to come in for her to explain it to me. Well, if she couldn't explain it to me over the phone I surely was not going to make a trip in just for that. I figured I would just hold off paying it until my next appointment.

The day before my appointment, I woke up with a severe cold. I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. I immediately called to cancel the appointment because I couldn't have my teeth worked on and not be able to breathe. The call was 17 hours before the appointment time. Maya told me she was going to charge me the $54 cancellation fee because it was less than 24 hours notice. I had never missed/been late for a single appointment. I left a message for Dr. Parran to call me. He never did. I called back several more times over the next few weeks and left more unreturned messages for Dr. Parran. I was determined I would not pay this fee. On advice from a legal advisor, I sent a certified letter to Dr. Parran explaining the circumstances and asking him to waive the fee. Finally I got a letter from Dr. Parran telling me he would waive the fee and that I should take my dental business elsewhere. This guy has nerve. I was never less than fully professional with him and his staff. And now, after at least six attempts to contact him with no success, he's going to tell me he doesn't want my business any more? The truth is, by this time I had already switched to another dentist.

I would rate Dr. Parran's dental skills a 5 on a 1-10 scale. His professionalism and customer service is a 2. There are plenty of better dentists out there. I suggest you go elsewhere.

While the dentist is not entirely bad, they have poor business practices. The main reason I have been going to this office is because it's one of the dentists that my PPO insurance covers. However, after my most recent cleaning they said I had an outstanding balance of $100 from my previous 6 month cleaning that the insurance did not cover. I never received a bill for this amount and definitely would have not scheduled another appointment with Dr. Parran had I known it would cost me an additional $100 for each cleaning. The hygienists told me that it was likely due to the fact that the previous receptionist had scheduled me less than 6 months from my last appointment.

I understand that people can make honest mistakes, but I think that not informing me of my past bill (so I could speak to my insurance company about my next appointments) is just careless. They also informed me that this has been happening to many of their patients recently and that they could not inform their patients until they come in for a cleaning.

I will NEVER go back to Dr. Parran's practice and I advise others not to as well. ESPECIALLY if you are a current patient, they will hand you an additional bill at the end of your cleaning due to their incompetent past staff.

I saw Dr Parran for 11-30 appointments I had never missed an appointment not one well one day i realized i had made two different appointments 45 minutes apart i had to make a decission on which appointment to go to. I pick my other appointment. I called the day of the appointment at the time I was to be there to let them know what had occurred. Needless to say Amber the front desk person slapped me not only with a missed appointment fee she had the nerve to charge me 144.00 for that appointment claiming I had actually missed two appointments even though i received one appointment card. and one time slot because i was to see the hygenist first and then the Dr she tried to tell me that was two appointsments not just one. I have requested to pick up my exrays and chart then I was told I had to pay again for a copy of the exrays. I paid them once for them and they were also paid by my insurance company. Again another double charge totally not allowed. I went in over a year ago to have a crown put on my one tooth and two have 2 cavitis filled. Needless to say 2000 dollars later that has yet to be done. Dr Parran is good at doing a procdure that was not necessary. I had work done over 10 years prior i never had any pain or problems in that area. So he went ahead and did work I had not authorized or even ask to have done . I would not recommend this doctor to anyone not even my worst enemey. If you want to have work down that was not necessary and the work you needed down but wasnt done, if you want to be doubled charged double billed, pay for any little item, they even charge for infection control fee of 13.00 in one month of 3 visit I paid 39.00 dollars for gloves they use. i shouldn't be charged that mount for gloves, I could bring my own gloves in at a leaser cost 1 box last a long time through many patients. So I heed this warning.dont go to this Dentist because they only care about money how to screw the patient out of all they have. By double billing, Charging asteronomical missed appointment fee of 144. infection control of 13.00 a visit and preform work that didn;t need to be done.

He/she would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.
