We went to Dr Young because he had a good reputation. He was nice enough, he just didn't really explain anything to us. We had been trying to conceive for 4 years, so we went in knowing quite a bit, but it was expected that we knew. He didn't really go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. I am pregnant now as a result of ivf, but it was based on the decision of his partner Dr Cooper because Dr Young was out of town, then Dr Cooper also did the retrieval and transfer. Dr Cooper was very good, he even prayed with us! We had attempted two other retrievals with Dr Young that resulted in low egg counts and he was just like "well, whatever you wanna do". He just didn't seem that interested. Also, not all (Shelia, Jolie, Sheryl were great), but a couple of the nurses there really need to re-evaluate if working with women dealing with infertility is their calling. One nurse was super insensitive when she called to cancel an ivf with me. She was down-right rude, I felt bad enough, and it's not like I was a "needy" patient. Just be prepared for that, and really consider Dr Cooper, he was so friendly and competant!

The waiting area here is extremely spacious. There is never overcrowding and everything is spaced appropriately. I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment when they told me about what they learned at the latest conference they attended, and how they were incorporating that knowledge into the practice. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered.

He is very professional and considerate and was wiling to spend whatever time needed with me. I could easily tell he knew what he was doing and was quick to put us on a very successful track!

My recommendation would be to have your doctor do as many tests as they can do (many OBGYNS will do several of the tests--which I didn't know beforehand) to save you money and to get better service. I can NOT believe how terrible the staff and Dr. Young is. I don't have time to get into everything, but he did an HSG X-RAY on me WHILE I WAS PREGNANT. He didn't check before hand like most doctors to see if I happened to be pregnant, or even ask if there was a chance. Because my period was irregular that month (only having it for a day and a half) I figured it was okay... but that's why I'm not the doctor. They should have said "hey, let's wait a minute and check to see if you are pregnant."

But that would not have made him any money. He is terrible. His staff are terrible. They do not care about their jobs and it is obvious. They don't care about their patients. I would have to wait for a call back for days. Avoid this place at all costs, I know I will NEVER go there again, and I just hope this pregnancy is healthy, despite what he did/didn't do, during the beginning.
