I have been a patient of Dr Winston for the past 8 years. He has been available to me through thick and thin. When I have been admitted as an inpatient in a hospital, he has seen me on a daily basis. He has recommended therapists who have been very helpful in assisting me work through the issues that have bothered me. I continue to see him at his new location, even though it is at least 20 minutes further away from his previous location. Good doctors are hard to find and when I found Dr Winston, I knew I could trust him and that my health issues were of concern to him. Sometimes I am not too well to drive and when I request a phone visit, he has been very accommodating.
A pleased long time patient

Dr. Winston is now in Marietta (on Kennesaw Rd). His office is pleasant, smells good, offers cookies and coffee, etc. That's where the good part ends.

Dr. Winston can't even bother to spell my name right, even after being corrected. He was in and out, never bothering to spend any time to get to know me. He offered condescending platitudes when I mentioned my troubles. I know that he is a psychiatrist and not a therapist, but there's no need to talk down to patients when they try to describe their emotions. And that's not even the worst part.

Try to get this office to return a phone call. I dare you. The only time they will return a call is if you are trying to schedule an appointment. Question about your prescription? Sorry. Question about other office policies? Sorry.

The final straw came after one particularly horrid appointment. I asked Dr. Winston if he could prescribe a non-hypnotic sleep aid, and his solution was to double my antidepressant. Yes, it does have sleep-inducing properties, but it doesn't have that effect on me and I certainly don't need to take a DOUBLE DOSE of it, considering that my old doctor and I had worked very hard to find the right dosage to match my other meds. I paid cash for my co-pay that day. I have the receipt. THE NEXT DAY THEY DEBITED AN ADDITIONAL $30 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. I guess they still had my debit card number on file from previous visits. I called to rectify the situation, but guess what...NO RETURN CALL. When my mail-order pharmacy called to verify my prescription, guess what...NO RETURN CALL.

Avoid this doctor and office at all costs. They don't care about you, they don't care if you don't get your medication, and they are willing to steal your money. But hey, if you want to be condescended to and have your account cleared out, be my guest. I'm finding a competent doctor ASAP
