Dr. Alter was recommended by the pastor of the church I attend. He is nice enough; however, he is forgetful - maybe he's just too overworked. Ten days after my arthroscopic knee surgery he removed the stitches and released me with no direction or clue as to the recovery process or time. He was supposed to send me for physical therapy, but never did. Five months later I still have pain and made an appointment with him and he gave me a cortizone injection. I told him he never sent me for therapy and he said it was because I seemed to be motivated to exercise myself, which I felt was a cop-out because he didn't even know me. At that time he provided me a form to get the post-op therapy done - 5 months after surgery. He thought my current pain might have been from a blood clot in my leg so recommended an ultrasound. When I left the office they scheduled a 3-month follow-up appointment but not an ultrasound. I had to, again, call his office to advise them he never scheduled an ultrasound. The told me some story about him waiting until the next day to see if I called still had pain. At that point they scheduled the ultrasound. I'm disappointed ...

I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. Their office was one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever visited. I was able to relax very easily. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here.

They didn't follow through with almost everything they told me I would get when I first arrived. I feel like they slighted me. I will definitely recommend them to people I know. They always take that extra step to make me feel special. I always enjoy my appointments here. They always have an immediate answer for me when I call with a question. They would never try to get me to make an appointment unless I really needed one. As soon as I walked through the door, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They went out of their way to make me feel special and appreciated.

If you like killing most of a day, this waiting room is definitely the place to do it. I read an entire book waiting one day and no, there was no emergency. He just has to get every last "patient" (read dollar) in every day so everyone gets to sit and wait for HOURS. His attention to you after the surgery is no better. You are rarely visited in the hospital and have to sit and wait for hours awaiting a post op appointment.

If you ask the women at the desk if you have time to go and get lunch or to come back at a later hour, they are very officious and tell you that if you leave, you will lose your appointment. Other than that, it's a great place to go for mistreatment.
