Amazing speech pathologist! She was creative and committed to helping my son's speech and language skills improve. She made a huge difference in our lives. We saw her for years while my little guy struggled with problems stemming from a mild hearing loss. He was a very active kid, and I was impressed that Alix was always willing to do what he needed to get to him learn. She wasn't one of those therapists who'd expect an active two-year-old to sit in a chair for 40 minutes. (We'd actually gone to one once who was wearing a business suit to do speech with a toddler! Ridiculous.) Alix used play to keep him interested, and as he got older, her therapy grew with him. His speech and language skills blossomed exponentially under her care. I will forever be grateful for all she did to help my son and me.
We wanted to stay with her because she is so nice, but her therapy skills are just not as good or as professional as the ones that we had in California, so after looking at other local therapy clinics, we found one that was on par with our California clinic. It pays to shop around for the best services for your child.
Our son has seen Alex weekly, for five years. Matt has an extremely complicated medical history and diagnosis, to include mental health issues. Alex has developed an unparalleled rapport with him, allowing her to work through even his aggressive outburst. She is invested in his welfare far beyond his immediate speech need, and flexible as his needs change. She is well connected with the therapy and medical community, having relationship with many of Matthew's providers. Our family could NEVER repay the skill and devotion she has shown our son. ...HUGE FANS!!!!
