My husband -- who is mentally and physically handicapped -- is in considerable pain "down south". His primary doctor ordered an ultrasound, which showed a cyst but nothing else. She referred us to Vapnek. He spent maybe two minutes asking for details of the symptoms, MAYBE a grand sum total of 30 seconds doing an exam, and said (this is verbatim): "Well, I don't know what you expect me to do for you." And that, as far as he was concerned, was that. I asked what might be causing the pain: "Maybe back spasms." I asked for ideas on what we could do to relieve the pain, and got, "You can try whatever you like." He informed me he would send a note to the PCP and walked out. So what do I do now, when my dear, sweet husband begs me to stop the pain?
