resulted in a diagnosis of PTSD, PPD and anxiety. My wishes and desires were not respected, nor listened to. Informed consent was thrown out the window. Procedures were forced on me against my cries of "no". I was also verbally chastised throughout the labor. My baby was taken from me immediately for no reason whatsoever, I didn't even get to touch him before he was snatched away. I only got to hold him for roughly 20 minutes of our first 3 hours together. No one helped me breastfeed. Mary left almost right after the birth, without saying so much as a "congratulations", before I was stitched up or had breastfed, and I didn't see her until the next morning when she told me how abnormal I had acted while giving birth, and that I acted childlike. If you are seeing a midwife because you want a natural birth, you will not get it with this provider, as she was very fond of interventions and of doing them against my will. If you don't care whether you have a natural birth, but you want good birth memories, this is still not the provider for you as she is bent on maintaining total control, and she obviously doesn't care about mother-infant bonding at all.
