Dr. Egal is a poor choice for care of an elderly family member. We found him to be difficult to speak with, and very resistant to answering our questions or coordinating specialist care. He stated several times that his mother died when she was 90 of pneumonia, and that 90 was a good age to achieve. He seemed to imply that we should allow our mother to die of pneumonia since she is 90, without seeking to provide her with optimal care. At one point he got angry with a family member and yelled at her over the phone. I suggest that you try to find another doctor for your loved one.
