I have kertaconus and for many years as a young girl the opthmologists I visited couldn't help make me see any better. I dreaded going to the eye doc, as I could never "tell" the doc the right number, you now, 1 or 2, 4 or 3, etc.. I have been a patient of Dr. Pollards for almost 30 years, as he has been the only doc that has worked with my disease, and I can TRULY see! As I lived out of state many years, I would always make my yearly exam around the holidays, and book my appts to coincide. He is AMAZING!!!!

How does Dr Pollard stay in business with such a painfully poor choice of employees.

I practically had to beg for my prescription, they pushed their frames on me and then didn't include a copy of the prescription with my order. It seemed planned, because I asked for it and they acknowledged me and then still I walked out without my prescription. I called them and Miss Hope answered and said, "Why do you need your prescription, you just purchased a pair of frames from us?". I was shocked and said because I may want to use it somewhere later again this year? She replied with "oh, well when you need it just call us then". I couldn't put my brain around this happening, it was bizarre.

Then my glasses came in and I returned to pick them up after I received a message from Miss Hope. I work Monday through Friday 9-6 pm. I left work early to make it to their office and pick up my glasses which were a very weak prescription, only used to assist me for evening driving. I leave work early, arrive at their office and they say oh, we are sorry we can't fit you in today. You have to schedule a pickup at another time, we are booked and don't have anyone available to assist you with a fitting. I responded with, "Well your office left me a message and never mentioned scheduling a fitting for my pickup?". I take time away from work, losing income, drive across town and they act like I'm not inconvenienced at all. And yes that was the infamous Miss Hope once again, making me question what is wrong with this lady, totally perplexing! I refused to leave and demanded they take 2 minutes to service my needs, I would not be returning for a 3rd bizarre encounter.

A year goes by and my pretax medical card I put in for yearly at work was expiring. I realize my prescription is a month and a half expired. I call the office around 1 pm, I explain my request for an extension even through the day on my prescription, I didn't want to lose the last $200 dollars from my expiring wage works card. I though I could grab some sunglasses after work at Target on my way home. This seemed like a reasonable request. Jane said she would ask Dr Pollard and get back with me but never did. I call her back 4 hours later and Miss Hope said she was busy, then silence on her end. Not can I help you, or I can take a message and have Jane call you back, nothing. So I call back again 30 minutes later and Jane says oh well the Dr has been very busy, I haven't had an opportunity to ask him. Really? So I requested her to get back with me prior to their closing, and no call.

So I call once more with 10 minutes until they close for the day and yep, Hope picks up, says she can't promise anything but states over and over in her android like voice, "I will do my very best to get back to you but that's all I can say". What does that mean? It was not convincing me she cared to assist me. Needless to say I never had a returning call from anyone in the office, not even the next day.

Take your business elsewhere, there is something very strange about this place. I will also report it to the Better Business Bureau, this is the first time I have ever gone out of my way to post a negative review, but hey they earned it. I hope you never have to deal with these odd personalities. Jane and Hope win the award for super sketchy and rude. Congratulations on losing my business, along with the rest of those I know who feel the same way. It seems Jane and Hope have earned quite a reputation with others that feel the exact same way. It's almost as if they are trying to sink the business on purpose.

I saw Dr. Pollard for an emergency at his downtown office, and switched to him for my annual eye/contact lens exams. He is thorough, caring, explained everything he was doing and why (my request), and followed up (which I needed). I highly recommend him.

I have used Dr. Pollard in the past and have always had a positive experience. If your looking solely for price - then you should go to a Walmart, Pearl Vision, or Lens Crafters. Dr. Pollard has always been knowledgable, as he should - and I have not had any negative experiences with his staff (as noted by Yelp reviews). Keep in mind that this is a local business and not a big chain store, so prices will reflect that.

This office is very focused on making money. Their voice mail goes on forever about customer service yet they do not have any. They return calls by saying they are returning a call without answering your question, then you call back and get a vm wasting the day in this stupid cycle. They constantly call to drum up business--- from my baby??? When I had an urgent need they gave me such a run around that they scheduled a full eye exam without my agreement and then tried to charge me for cancelling it. This plus other related hassles, I left and will never return (after 6 years of stupid service, enough!) Their staff is so slow and annoying they just confuse you, waste your time and get nothing done.
