1 stick cinnamon
6 whole green cardamom pods
6 whole cloves
1 inch piece peeled and thinly sliced ginger root
4 whole black peppercorns
3 cups water
2 single-serve black tea bags
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 cup low-fat milk
Into a small pot, add the cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, peppercorns, and water. Bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside for 10 minutes.
Return the pot to the stove and bring it back to boil. Remove from stove and add in the tea.
Cover and set aside for 3-5 minutes.
Mix in the sugar and milk and heat on low for 1 minute.
Pour into a cup through a strainer to remove the solid spices.
