I have been in social work for 10 years now and I get better paying jobs but they are all direct practice or the bottom of the "organizational chart." I don't mind doing the direct practice but some day I hope to be little higher than mental health professional, or health specialist I/II/III. This is one of the driving reasons I am weening myself off working for someone else and into private practice.
