Photo Genesis is the procedure name of Cutera's 'Intelligent Pulsed Light' technology for photorejuvenation. This treatment is an excellent modality for the treatment of age and sun spots, rosacea and mottled complexions.

The LP560 is a broadband pulsed light source (flashlamp) that works well when treating dyschromia and on superficial brown and red spots. A filter is used to block the undesirable wavelengths and transmit the desired wavelengths used for treatment - in this case the 560-1200 nm range.

However, with any filter, the output energy of the flashlamp will degrade as the lamp ages. This fact is critical because over time the degradation will result in inconsistent treatments. Cutera's proprietary system design includes real-time on-going calibration to avoid this problem.
