I chose family medicine because before I became a PA, I worked as a scribe in family medicine and I noticed the long-term relationships providers had with patients. I liked the variety of what you see in the clinic?acute visits, well-child visits, physicals, even follow-ups on chronic conditions. The relationships spoke to me the most in primary care. I want patients to know I?ll always give them a well-rounded visit and take the time to listen to all their complaints. Even if I don't have all the answers, I?ll get it for them, from my peers or from a specialist. The most gratifying part of my job is sometimes the smallest things, refilling a prescription, listening to their concerns and hearing how their personal life is affecting their health. Being a good listener is very important to me and I?ll always work to give that to my patients.
