Benjamin Mixon, MD

Dr Mixon is proud to be a member of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team at the Children's Hospital at Erlanger. He received his medical training at The University of Mississippi followed by Pediatrics residency at The University of South Florida. He completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University prior to joining the team here in Chattanooga. In fellowship, he developed an interest in Pediatric Sarcomas and Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Although his fellowship-based research was lab-based, his real love was in direct patient care. Moving his family to Chattanoga was an easy decision. Even though Dr Mixon is a native of Mississippi, he has greatly enjoyed living in Chattanooga.
