Kulvinder Bajwa

Kulvinder S. Bajwa, MD, is a board-certified surgeon with expertise in hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, weight loss surgery, reflux and foregut surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. Recognizing that surgery is a major event in a patient’s life, he helps prepare patients for this experience. This includes guiding them to reliable sources of information so they’re well-informed and giving them realistic expectations during recovery.
Bajwa is a professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He’s also a retired colonel and command surgeon for the U.S. Army Reserve. He received numerous military awards, including four Army commendation medals, a meritorious service medal, and the combat action badge.
Outside of work, Bajwa enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, running, skiing, and traveling.
