Peter von Homeyer, MD, FASE, is Chief, Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Montefiore Einstein and Professor, Anesthesiology at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr von Homeyer is an experienced cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesiologist who provides perioperative care for patients with advanced cardiovascular disease. He has a special interest in anesthesia for thoracic organ transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, particularly extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). After earning his Doctor of Medicine in 2001, Dr von Homeyer completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at the University Hospital Münster in Münster, Germany, in 2006.
