Dr Terland is a specialist with Samaritan Palliative Care, a multidisciplinary team supporting patients with serious illness. She was drawn to medicine by the challenge, as well as the impact she can make in the people's lives. Her interest in palliative medicine was sparked when she worked as a care coordinator and activity specialist for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. She developed a passion for helping vulnerable people and those facing serious illness. Dr Terland grew up in Oregon and was eager to return after working in Alaska for 14 years. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, camping, kayaking and spending time with family.
