Dr Marroquin is a practicing cardiologist at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and has a background in the use of intravascular ultrasound and the assessment of the coronary microvasculature. After completing his undergraduate and graduate work at the Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala, Dr Marroquin completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Presbyterian Medical Center of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at UPMC. Dr Marroquin also received a certificate in clinical research from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute-sponsored clinical research training program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
