This provider and clinic does not value your time or health. Further, the scheduler will yell at you when they cancel you at the last minute and you are frustrated, even if you do not raise your voice. The last thing heart patients need is this kind of stress. Normally, I would not complain or leave a bad review, but this entire interaction was terrible, very shady, and my first bad experience in the UPMC network. I love all of my other providers and their offices. This office was horrendous.
The clinic claims to fast track urgent cases; however, two months was the first available appointment. The provider was selected for specialty, relative to my history and symptoms. I waited patiently without complaint, in severe pain with multiple ED visits in the interim. Two days prior to my appointment, I received a MyUPMC reminder message for the appointment at 0850 and at 0920 my husband received a call stating my medical records were not received - out of my control - while I was IN A STRESS TEST. He offered to hand carry my copies if they did not arrive in time. The next day - the morning before my appointment - it was canceled. The scheduler was talking in circles and lying once I started asking questions and making valid points. Initially, I was told the physician only found out "today" or "this morning" about a meeting but upon further questioning was told they knew on Monday - they day we received reminders and calls. When I asked why we were not notified then, if that was the case, the scheduler got very rude and antimated and made it sound from her end like I was angry. I was not yelling or raising my voice. I corrected her and said I was frustrated that I had already waited two months and now she was saying I would have to wait another three months. When you have lost significant health in 3-6 months, can't walk across your house, and just failed a stress test, three months is a joke to wait to see a cardiologist. When I told her I felt that was too long to wait, she said she was trying to help me, the hospital was always the priority, only four doctors round(rounds are scheduled in advance! -wife of a former CR), and she had been rescheduling patients since Monday - again the day before!!! The longer she talked, the shadier it sounded! So it became blatantly apparent that there was zero concern for me and those I needed to support me who also have to take time off to drive me. I told the scheduler it was obvious as a patient I would never be a priority , did not wish to reschedule, and would search for a new cardiologist. If you want someone with similar specialties who will take you seriously and truly listen, while respecting you and your time, I higly recommend Dr. Indaram at AHN. Her entire team in her office is A+++
