Krishna V Tummalapalli, MD, is an interventional cardiologist with more than three decades of experience. In the early 1990s, he performed the first coronary artery stent procedure among all Pittsburgh-area hospitals. He developed an expertise in transradial catheterization early on and teaches this technique to other physicians. He is course director of the Annual Advanced Transradial and Complex Cardiac Interventions Symposium. Dr Tummalapalli completed his residency in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then completed his fellowship in cardiology at UPMC Shadyside.
