When I was young, a family member was misdiagnosed and ended up dying as the result of an infection. That family trauma, combined with my interest in science, led me to study pediatric infectious diseases. Every patient is unique and different and deserves to be listened to, respected and heard. I listen closely to the parents of my patients - and to my young patients themselves - to learn about their symptoms in order to better develop an individualized care plan tailored just for them.
